Dieter Kohl – Long-time companion of wortundtat has passed away
Dieter Kohl, a companion and member of wortundtat e. V. for several decades and a long-time public relations officer for the aid organization founded by Dr. Heinz-Horst Deichmann, passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 81.
Together with Dr. Heinz-Horst Deichmann, Dieter Kohl had been visiting wortundtat projects in India since as early as the 1980s. There, equipped with a camera and notepad, he documented the founder’s journeys through leprosy colonies, boarding schools, and districts in particular need of support. Later, working from his desk at home, Kohl used the wortundtat magazine, among other means, to ensure that a growing circle of friends in Germany supported the charity with donations.
Versatile commitment – successful promotion of the Christian message
However, communications work for wortundtat was only one part of his professional activities. He also directed public relations for the German child-rights organisation “Kindernothilfe”. In 2007, he played a significant role in establishing the foundation for the children’s charity “Compassion.” In other areas, he made the Christian message highly visible, for example through large-format billboards on highways and in city centers. To facilitate these activities, the journalist and copywriter specifically founded the association gott.net.
