Putting an end to isolation
In 2010/2011, a big assembly hall was built at the centre of the KIUMA Project. It provides room for information events, meetings of the KIUMA pupils and gatherings of the employees. But it can also bring people from more distant parts of the country into the region – to conferences, assemblies or celebrations. There is no other hall in the district that can accommodate more than 1000 people. That way, on the basis of this building alone, KIUMA is able to ensure that the existence of the region comes increasingly to the fore. Another component that contributes to liberating the south of the country gradually from its backwardness.
