A home for homeless people in Moldavia

Hardship and misery are everywhere in the Moldavian city of Ciadir Lunga - in particular now during the cold winter months, as you can read in our wortundtat magazine 04/2009 (page 20). wortundtat tries to help those, who are particularly badly affected. Just now we are planning to make extensive repairs to a no longer used kindergarten, which we want to turn into emergency accommodation for about 15 to 20 homeless people.

The need for renovation is massive: drainage pipes have to be replaced, a gas heating system has to be installed and all electric equipment is in urgent need of extensive repairs. The mayor has made the promise that wortundtat can use the building. We hope to start with the necessary work as early as possible so that the people in need can move in before the winter sets in.

Once the building has been renovated, the homeless will have a roof over their heads. The members of staff of the Diocesan Missionary Station Gloria can then take care of their wellbeing and their health. And they might even be able to open some long-term perspectives for them - with regard to physical, social and spiritual development stages.
