Leprosy – Help the poorest

Leprosy: since primeval times this disease has had a devastating effect on humankind. The Bible already describes its symptoms in great detail. Read for yourself: The Third Book of Moses, Chapter 13, Verse 1– 46. Leprosy has claimed countless lives - many more, however, became cripples, lepers and outcast because of this illness.

Leprosy is not highly contagious. Leprosy can be cured. Leprosy is a disease of the poor: most people, who contract the disease, do not have sufficient hygiene facilities, are malnourished and have a weak immune system as a result.

wortundtat and AMG India have been fighting against this disease for over 30 years. And for as long we have been supporting the people suffering from Leprosy - thanks to your donations.

We care, for example, for 600 sufferers in the district of Prakasam. Their illness has retreated by their bodies have been ravaged by the disease. They can only master their lives with our help. Every month, wortundtat provides each one with:

  • 10 kilo rice
  • 2 kilo Dhall – a type of puree, prepared from lentils or chickpeas
  • 1 litre cooking oil
  • Soap

6.66 Euros per month are sufficient. Donating 80 Euros would help a sufferer a whole year.
