Being active in Andhra Pradesh for over 30 years

It is over 30 years ago that the aid and mission work organisation wortundtat started its work in the South Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. wortundtat only uses local workers to carry out its work. The Indian organisation AMG India International with seat in South Indian Chilakaluripet is solely responsible for realising the wortundtat projects.

Some basic information about India

Although in a global comparison, India is home to the most millionaires and billionaires and registered significant economic growth in the past years, however, the change is limited: the computer industry employs only about 2 million people whilst about 700 million Indians are still living in rural areas – often in great poverty. wortundtat helps in Andhra Pradesh, a predominantly rural state in the south of the sub-continent.

But not all people benefit to the same extent from the growth in the newly industrialized country India: more than half of the about 1.16 billion Indians have less than € 1.40 per day to survive. The average per-head income is about € 586 per year. Particular underdeveloped are the rural areas.

India’s religious diversity is vast, whereby the Hindu tradition is predominant. About 80 % of the Indians are Hindus, about 13 % Muslims, 2.3 % Christians and 1.8 % Sikhs.

Helping in word and in deed

• Health
