Starting aid for the youngest
In respect of education in Ceadîr Lunga, wortundtat aid concentrates on those projects, for which the municipality or the government of Gagauziya, in spite of urgent needs, have no funds: local schools have received financial support for its renovation. Apart from that, wortundtat has fitted several kindergartens with new windows, has repaired roofs or set up food stores. Where it becomes known that such facilities are in need of renovation, wortundtat examines whether it is possible to provide help – without releasing the municipality from its liability.
In 2010, wortundtat helped children from particularly deprived families to gain access to a kindergarten to give them the opportunity to play and learn with children of their own age. Gloria employees distributed so-called "gifts from the heart" at Christmas, Christmas greetings from Germany to children in the region.
The extent of the aid programme is always oriented towards the capacity of the helpers: only if sufficient locals with the required know-how are available it is possible to expand the help. Because wortundtat does not send development aid workers from Germany to the projects on principle.
